If you've been looking for an affordable, long-range EV, don't overlook this one because of the mileage.
This 2020 Chevrolet Bolt EV LT is a 1-owner Colorado vehicle with no accidents or damage reported to CARFAX, 15 documented service records, and a history showing that it was originally sold and predominantly serviced by the same Chevrolet dealer.
These Bolts can be surprisingly tough to find, especially when you're looking for a practical EV with genuinely useful range at an affordable price.
And unlike many inexpensive used EVs, the Bolt wasn't designed as a short-range city car. When new, the 2020 Bolt EV carried an EPA-estimated 259 miles of range. Actual range today will vary with battery condition, temperature, speed, HVAC use and driving style.
The Bolt is one of the best values in the used-EV market.
You get:
It's a very different proposition from many early affordable EVs that might only provide 70–100 miles of usable range.
The Bolt gives you enough range that it can realistically serve as someone's primary vehicle, rather than just an around-town second car.
EV mileage is different.
There is no gasoline engine that has accumulated 143,000 miles of combustion cycles. No timing belt. No turbocharger. No traditional transmission shifting through gears thousands of times.
More importantly, this wasn't an unknown vehicle bouncing from owner to owner.
CARFAX shows one personal owner for approximately five years, all in Colorado, with an estimated 27,261 miles driven annually.
That suggests a Bolt that was driven regularly and accumulated mileage quickly, rather than one that simply aged through years of short trips.
CARFAX reports:
There's another part of the history we really like.
This Bolt was originally sold by Spradley Chevrolet Hyundai in Pueblo, and CARFAX identifies it as a CARFAX Homegrown vehicle, meaning at least 75% of its reported service was performed by the dealership that originally sold it.
That's the kind of ownership history we like seeing on a higher-mileage vehicle.
As with our other inventory, we didn't simply buy this Bolt, wash it and put it online.
Our shop performed a multipoint safety inspection, scan and road test. The inspection included the electrical systems, HVAC, lights, windows and mirrors, undercarriage, suspension, axles, brakes, tires and other major vehicle systems.
We then addressed the items our technicians found.
The 12V AGM battery tested at only 347 of 520 CCA, so rather than waiting for the next owner to have a problem, we replaced it.
We also replaced all four tire-pressure sensors, not merely the two originally identified as inoperative.
Altogether, our current repair order shows $834.73 invested in inspection and reconditioning.
That's the Ridgeline difference.
A used Bolt makes a lot of sense for someone who can charge at home.
Plug it in overnight, leave every morning with a charged battery and skip the gas station altogether.
For a commuter doing 40, 60, even 100+ miles per day, the combination of range and low operating costs can be extremely compelling.
It's also a great fit for:
We're not afraid of electric vehicles at Ridgeline.
We've sold and serviced Chevrolet Bolts, Nissan LEAFs, Volkswagen ID.4s, Volvo Recharge models, BMW i3s, Toyota RAV4 EVs and other electric and plug-in vehicles.
When we sell an EV, we understand that the questions are different from those you'd ask about a conventional gasoline car.
Battery condition, charging, range and electric drivetrain operation matter.
We don't simply wash vehicles and put them on the lot.
Every vehicle goes through a comprehensive inspection, receives the maintenance and repairs it needs, and is extensively road-tested before being offered for sale.
Our goal is simple:
Sell vehicles we'd be comfortable putting our own family in.
We're also a full-service automotive repair facility and NAPA Auto Care Center, so our relationship doesn't have to end when you drive away.
Qualifying Ridgeline vehicles include:
FREE 3-Month / 3,000-Mile Enhanced Powertrain Warranty
FREE First Scheduled Maintenance / Inspection
FREE 3,000-Mile Quality Control Inspection
Extended service-contract options may also be available depending on the vehicle and coverage eligibility.
Ask us for the exact EV-specific warranty coverage on this Bolt, as high-voltage battery and EV-component coverage differs from a conventional powertrain warranty.
