148,477 Miles | Stock #J1069
VIN: JF2SHBBC8BG778014
2.5L Subaru Boxer 4-Cylinder | AWD
5-Speed Manual Transmission
This one is still going through our reconditioning and extended road-testing process, but we wanted to give Subaru buyers an early look.
If you've been searching for an older Forester AWD with a MANUAL TRANSMISSION, this is becoming a pretty interesting vehicle.
And we're putting a lot of work into it before it hits the lot.
The Forester currently has 148,477 miles, and CARFAX shows 28 service history records, three previous owners, personal use, Colorado ownership since 2023, and NO accidents or damage reported to CARFAX.
This is exactly why we use “Coming Soon” rather than listing a vehicle for sale the moment we buy it.
Our current work order already totals $5,380.10, including $2,256.30 in labor and $3,073.80 in parts.
The biggest item is the engine.
We're installing a replacement long block with approximately 114,000 miles, backed by a 1-year parts and labor warranty.
While doing the engine replacement, we're going much further than simply swapping engines. The current work order includes:
The engine-related parts and labor alone currently total more than $4,100. The additional radiator, belt/pulley, clutch hydraulic and brake work is documented throughout the current shop order.
This Forester actually has an unusually strong documented history for a 2011 with nearly 150K miles.
CARFAX shows 28 service records and no reported accidents or damage. It also reports no structural damage, airbag deployment or odometer rollback and no open recalls.
There's also an important piece of history:
Subaru previously replaced the short block at 80,708 miles in 2015.
The clutch assembly was also previously replaced by Subaru at approximately 111,400 miles.
The history shows continued maintenance including oil changes, alignments, brakes, coolant service, differential service and transmission service.
Its most recent owner brought the Forester to Colorado in 2023 and has driven it relatively little—CARFAX estimates approximately 2,276 miles per year during that ownership.
Once the current mechanical work is completed, we're going to drive it.
And we're not talking about one trip around the block.
We'll continue putting miles on this Forester, monitoring the replacement engine, cooling system, clutch operation, brakes, AWD system and overall drivability.
More work may be performed as we drive and test the vehicle.
If something shows up during our extended testing that we believe should be addressed before sale, we'll address it. Once we're satisfied with the vehicle, we'll finish the final QC process and officially move it from COMING SOON to NOW AVAILABLE.
That's a major part of the difference between how Ridgeline prepares a 15-year-old Subaru and simply buying one at auction, washing it and putting a price tag in the window.
Manual-transmission Subarus aren't nearly as easy to find as they used to be.
If this is the type of Forester you've been looking for, call us now and ask about Stock #J1069.
We'll be happy to show you what we're doing to it, go over the CARFAX and current repair order, and let you know where it is in our reconditioning process.
We don't simply wash vehicles and put them on the lot. Every vehicle goes through a comprehensive inspection, receives the maintenance and repairs it needs, and is extensively road-tested before being offered for sale.
Our goal is simple: sell vehicles we'd be comfortable putting our own family in.

“Ridgeline goes far beyond what most dealerships do mechanically before sale.”
